Department of Philosophy

The Philosophy Department was established with the inception of Bengtol College in the year 1981. The founder teacher Mr. Probin Narzary was the lone teacher of the Department, as the student enrollment number increased and financial assistance from BTC, the Department was fully established in the year 2006 by recruiting more teachers to cartel the needs of the students in particular to the philosophy students. Thereafter, in the year 2006, an Honour/ Major Course was introduced, since then the department had no looking back but garners the quest for humanitarian streams and the department had been able to discharge the needs and aspirations of the students through innovative and systematic style of teachings, by keeping close relations between teach and taught so that the teacher could bring out the hidden potential of the student and score good marks and make them a responsible citizen as well. About 90 percent of the passed out students from department are pursuing master’s degrees, M.Phill, and Ph.D. in various universities all over India.

  1. To impart quality education to the students.
  2. To encourage student to achieve their potential.
  3. Encourage students to realize the important of reaching personal goal through self motivations.
